An Origin Story

The Colt 1911 has long since cemented itself as a classic American sidearm. Serving as the standard-issue sidearm for the U.S. army for over 70 years, the M1911 gun was widely used in the first two World Wars, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The M1911 was designed by John Browning, known for implementing the gun's short recoil principle that would go on to become the preeminent type of operating system used in nearly all modern centerfire pistols.
